Al Jurf Villa Interior Design - Ground Floor

Project Overview

SpaceForge developed the interior design concept for the ground floor of a luxury villa in Al Jurf, Abu Dhabi, designed for Ohana Development within one of Abu Dhabi's most distinctive coastal communities, nestled between ancient ghaf forest and the sea. The design philosophy draws on Wabi-Sabi principles blended with a contemporary sensibility, embracing raw textures, organic forms, and an understated palette that honours imperfection while remaining grounded in the clean lines of modern living. The ground floor centres on a double-height reception anchored by a grand piano on a sculpted plaster plinth, framed by a floor-to-ceiling sculptural metal installation that acts as both art piece and spatial divider. Living areas feature low-profile bespoke furniture in muted earth tones, with textured plaster walls and timber wall panelling providing warmth and tactile depth. The formal dining room pairs a solid timber table with curved-back seating beneath full-height glazing, while a latticed timber screen draws on regional craft traditions to separate dining from the adjacent living zones. Material choices throughout, raw plaster, dark timber, woven textiles, and hand-finished ceramics, are deliberately imperfect, designed to age with the villa rather than against it. Every element was specified to respond to Al Jurf's natural setting: the forest, the coastline, and the quality of light that defines the location.
